This and that
With 4 quilts at the long-arm quilter’s, and 4 more needing backings and then off to the quilter’s, I thought it was time for a break from quilt tops. So instead I sewed up some pillowcases from Kumari Garden (this month’s feature fabric).
And then I helped Anna sew some pillowcases for an upcoming birthday party. She chose an orange & pink scheme from the Sweet Broderie collection to coordinate with her friend’s bedroom.
You can find a great collection of pillowcase patterns over at All People Quilt as part of their 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. We used the Roll It Up pattern to make banded pillowcases with no exposed raw edges.
I also finished the binding on my Hugs and Kisses quilt.
The beautiful custom quilting was done by Karen Cole in Dorchester. In a perfect world my points would be picture perfect, but I still love this quilt in all it’s bright and cheerful and imperfect glory. Kits are available in the shop.
I wanted to let locals know that I have a booth at the upcoming FibreFest 2011 in Almonte, September 10 & 11. The show takes place at several venues in Almonte, and I’ll be set up in the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum. Hope to see you there!
Love your hugs and kisses quilt Pam. Gorgeous!
