No place like home

November 6, 2012

Yes, I’m happy to be back at home after two long road trips last month, and getting some balance back in my life. I did find enough time to finish the binding on the last quilt on my October to-do list.

You can see the 25-patch quilt top here. I like the way the Kaffe Fassett Parasols print picked up a lot of the colors from the quilt top. Although I used a dark palette, the equal amount of ivory used in the simple 25-patch block helps to keep it bright. Melissa at SewShabbyQuilting did a terrific job with custom straight line quilting on the diagonal through the dark patches.

Now I can turn my thoughts to November projects. I started this pillow using the Hex N More ruler and Candy Dish pattern from Jaybird quilts.

The fabric is Winterkist my Monica Solorio-Snow for Lecien.

Then another quilt came back, this one from Mari Lyn at The Bytowne Quilter. It needs a binding before it finds a home on our bed.

And finally, a stack of fabrics that might just inspire a quilt …

Some Kaffe, mixed with Pepper from Robin Zingone, and a few shot cottons and a painters canvas for neutrals. What do you think?

Hi Pam, I remember seeing that 25 Patch quilt on your design wall. It finished up beautifully and the backing is just perfect!
