Good news and bad news

June 6, 2011

Rising cotton prices are driving the cost of cotton fabrics up, and Kona solids are no exception. I reordered some colors for my stock last week, and found the price had jumped significantly. That’s two price increases from the manufacturer in less than a year. The bad news is that I will be raising the price of the Kona solids from $7 /yard to $8 /yard. The  good news is that I’m waiting until July 1st, which means you can stock up on solids in June at the old price. I now have over 120 colors in stock, and will happily order other colors in on request.

The other bad news is that Canada Post workers are on strike (definitely bad news for internet shoppers!) The good news is that they have announced rotating strikes, with a different center being affected each day. So while this may cause some short delays, mail is still going through. I am looking into other options in the event that the situation changes, but for now, it’s business as usual.

And the last bit of good news is that Rose Cottage and Sweet Broderie have both been marked down to $7 /yard for June. You can find yardage, bundles, charms, rolls and tumblers for these two pretty collections in the shop.

Check out my Sweet Broderie quilt here, and my Rose Cottage quilt here.
