More Bits ‘n Pieces

August 9, 2010

Two more patterns on my must-have list are Square Dance and Crazy Eights, both from Bits ‘n Pieces. I use these patterns all the time for baby quilts – they both need 8 fat quarters, and another ½ yard for binding. The finished size of either quilt is about 36″ x 45″, which means you can back with 1 ½ yards without seams. Here’s Square Dance, finished this week with Sanibel cream, butter and tangerine and that lovely 21-wale corduroy I used in last week’s project – this time in yellow. I’ll use the corduroy as the backing too.

I was out to Joan Read’s in Almonte last Friday to pick up some work she had finished. Here’s Crazy Eights, done in Bubblegum Basics.

The Bits ‘n Pieces bundles in the shop will give you enough fabric for the quilt top and binding. Just pick the pattern you like and some backing, and you’re good to go!
