My sewing studio is finally a reality! Tom spent the long weekend installing new flooring in the former study. The kid’s desktop has been relocated, et voila! the former study is now set up as my sewing studio.
All the furniture is recycled from the study – two computer desks back to back serve as my sewing/cutting table.
Unfinished wooden shelves that used to hold games and craft supplies for the kids are now home to my collection of books and magazines, and baskets to hold projects and fabric scraps.
The rack displays finished quilts, and is also useful for holding fabric for my next project.
There are still some finishing touches – lighter curtains, a quilt on the wall behind the ironing board, maybe a bulletin board over the tables, but I’m totally thrilled to finally have a permanent space to work in!
I’ll be on vacation from August 7th until 14th (more on that in another post). All orders placed by noon tomorrow (August 6) will be shipped before I go, everything else will ship once I get back. Now’s a great time to check out the clearance fabrics – you’ll find Neutral Territory, Bubblegum Basics, Animal Party, DelHi, Mezzanine and Summer Soiree all marked down 30-40%. Precut fat quarters and half yards are also marked down 30-40%.
