Playday for Posh Tots

June 7, 2010

I found some time to do some sewing this week, and put together this very simple but sophisticated Posh Tot using Playday and Kona solids. It’s always a challenge to find great fabrics for boys, but this fun collection from Robert Kaufman certainly fits the bill.

The pattern from Blue Underground Studios went together quickly – I made the 39″ x 49″ baby quilt, but you could also make the larger 53″ x 69″ throw size.

I have to give some thought to the quilting – the pattern suggests horizontal lines about ½” apart for a very simple modern look (I might even try it at home.) I will make this one available as a kit, but I’m waiting for the chartreuse solid to come in for the binding (should be here by June 18).

I’m going back to Terry Atkinson’s Happy Hour for next week’s project. I’ve made a couple of quilts and other small projects from this booklet in the past, and it’s a reliable favorite. Don’t forget to come back next Monday for a project update!

Looked at this pattern at the St. Jacob’s show; how long did it take for you to put together?
