Quilts Recover and more
Today’s post is just about a few things out there in the blog world that I’ve tuned in to lately and wanted to share. First up is Quilts Recover, a recent initiative from Cheryl Arkison of Naptime Quilter to collect quilts to donate to communties rebuilding from disaster. The first community target is Slave Lake, Alberta which is rebuilding after devastating wildfires in May destroyed nearly half the town’s homes and businesses. You can find more info on the website, including how to donate a quilt.
Next up is the One Thing Once Challenge week over at Amy’s Creative Side. Follow the link to participate – leave a comment with your challenge goal, and then you can link up next week with your finished challenge. And there’s a nice giveaway for those who are participating. I think I’m in on that one! Amy’s also one of the organizers of the Sewing Summit being planned for October in Salt Lake City. I’m thinking it might be fun … anyone looking for a roommate?
And finally, Riley Blake has announced a new quilt contest. You have until August 17th to create and post your favorite Riley Blake quilt. Your pattern does not need to be original, but your fabric must be Riley Blake. You can get Happier in the shop now, with two more collections coming later in the summer. (And yes, my quilt is already in the works!)

beautiful fabric! what is the line?
Thanks for sharing the info about Quilts Recover!
